Joint Sexual Violence Advisory Committee
Who We Are
The Joint Sexual Violence Advisory Committee creates a safe and supportive campus environment for all students, faculty, and staff. The committee addresses domestic and sexual violence issues and advocates for policy changes to ensure campus practices align with the highest standards of safety and support. We work closely with VOICE, Stamps Health Services, and senior administration to evaluate and expand resources available to sexual violence survivors. The committee is a vital resource for raising awareness and creating a culture of safety and respect at Georgia Tech.
Fall Semester Events
- Greek Life Partnership: This project focuses on creating consistent, accessible trainings to ensure all students receive clear and actionable information about sexual violence prevention. We are working closely with CPC and IFC to integrate Work with Greek Life organizations to standardize resources focused on survivor support and prevention and increase accessibility to students on campus.
- GT 1000: This project focuses on integrating sexual violence prevention training into GT 1000, the first-year seminar course taken by all incoming students. By embedding a session on prevention, survivor support, and campus resources directly into the curriculum, every student will begin their Georgia Tech journey with a foundation of knowledge and awareness.
- Resource Guide: This project is geared towards increasing publicity of the Well-Being resources on campus to students. The guide include information on mental health, public health, and sexual violence prevention initiatives with contact information and support services. We are focused on broadening its reach throughout campus to ensure the guide is widely distributed and visible.
- Brave PEER Educators: BRAVE Peer Educators are a dedicated group of undergraduate and graduate campus leaders in educating students on sexual violence prevention topics such as consent, bystander intervention, healthy relationships, and community action.
