VOICE

What is VOICE?

VOICE is Georgia Tech’s initiative for preventing sexual and relationship violence and supporting survivors. Housed in the Wellness Empowerment Center, it offers education on healthy relationships and resources for those impacted by sexual harassment, stalking, dating violence, and assault.

Email VOICE at voice@gatech.edu to join the VOICE listserv and receive periodic emails related to getting involved and upcoming programs 

GET HELP: If you have experienced sexual violence or have questions related to victim-survivor support, referrals, and accommodations, and reporting options, and need to speak to a VOICE advocate, contact 404.894.9000 for 24/7 confidential support. Appointments can be made here.

How does VOICE help?

Services included: 

  • 24/7 on-call crisis support and emergency response to victim-survivors 
  • A safe, confidential space to process your feelings and reactions 
  • Safety planning 
  • Exploring housing options 
  • Assistance navigating reporting options (on and off campus) 
  • Accompaniment to the hospital, sexual assault center, police department, courthouse, or to meetings with the Title IX Coordinator or other campus officials 
  • Assistance requesting accommodations and supportive measures including notification to faculty, extensions and withdrawals 
  • Referrals to campus and community resources such as counseling

CMHCR Crisis Line

What is the CMHCR Crisis Line?

CMHCR stands for the Center for Mental Health Care & Resources. It’s the main hub for student mental health support on campus. 

CMHCR offers: 

  • Individual counseling and psychiatry services 
  • Crisis support and same-day walk-ins 
  • Workshops and peer coaching 
  • Testing and assessment and consultations for students, faculty, staff
  • Outreach programs focused on mental wellness and resilience

How to contact CMHCR

Meet with staff who are available during business hours (8am-5pm). 

Call 404.894.2575. For after-hours, select the option for after-hours counselor. 

For EMERGENCY, call GTPD at 404.894.2500 on campus or 911 off campus.

Actions through Title IX

You can report an incident to Georgia Tech, the police or a federal agency:

Reporting resources through Georgia Tech:

  • Reporting and accommodations for protection of pregnant and parenting students from discrimination.
  • Report an incident of sexual misconduct
  • Report violation of ADA compliance
  • Discrimination or harassment

Why You Might File a Police Report:

  • You need emergency assistance or access to immediate resources.
  • You want to explore the possibility of pressing criminal charges.
  • You can choose whether or not to notify law enforcement.
  • You have the right to seek both court-issued protective orders and Georgia Tech-issued no-contact orders.
