Vice President of External Affairs - Evan Gillon
Welcome to the Office of External Affairs! Our Board is comprised of the Community Relations and Government Relations committees. As a board, we are tasked with increasing Georgia Tech’s presence locally, regionally, and nationally through civic engagement, community service, and collaboration with other organizations. Each year, we plan a variety of events that help us achieve these goals; from promoting voter registration with #WreckTheVote, to hosting campus-wide events in the Atlanta area, to bringing Tech students to the Capitol, we work to spread Tech's prestige outside of our campus.
Committee Chairs - Joshua Santillo and Alexandra Martinez
The Community Relations committee works to connect Tech students with events and programs in and around the Atlanta area. This year, we will take Tech to the Atlanta Zoo, host a day at the Atlanta Beltline, and partner with other organizations to create a program allowing students to mentor Atlanta high-school students and promote STEM.
Committee Chairs - Ben Templin and Victoria Doris
The Government Relations committee is focused on better engaging Tech students with government this year through a student-focused legislative newsletter during session, hosting speaking engagements, promoting public-sector job opportunities, and by creating an advocacy organization for students to lobby at the State Capitol.
