Welcome

The Georgia Tech Research and Innovation Conference (gtRIC) is the premier graduate event showcasing original posters and innovations.  gtRIC will be hosted Monday, February 8th 2010 between 5pm and 7pm at the Georgia Tech Hotel, followed by a reception and awards ceremony from 7pm to 8pm in the atrium of the Global Learning Center.

Objectives

1.  To showcase the richness of the research conducted by graduate students at Georgia Tech across all disciplines and topics in the form of poster presentations.
2.  To provide a collegiate environment where undergraduate and graduate students can exchange research ideas and foster opportunities to learn from one another.
3.  To stimulate innovation at the graduate student level, by providing opportunity to pitch ideas and obtain sponsorship for a startup company.

Awards

Multiple awards will be available this year, in large part through sponsorship from the Office of the Provost and the Georgia Tech Edison Fund.  The awards are as follows:

Poster Session Awards

1)    Twenty travel grants of up to $2,000 each for travel to professional meetings to make a presentation.  These are open to MS and PhD students.
2)    Three $5,000/year fellowships awarded for up to 2 years to PhD students only.

Innovation Session Award
1)    One $15,000 Georgia Tech Edison Prize to be invested in a company formed by the winning competitor in the innovation component of the symposium.

Deadlines

•    November 15th:  Poster and Innovation abstract submissions open at www.gtric.gatech.edu
•    December 15th:  Poster and Innovation abstract submissions close.
•    February 8th: Georgia Tech Research and Innovation Conference.

Instruction to authors

Please find below a list of general instructions.

  1. Graduate students can choose to submit a poster or innovation abstract. 
    • For guidelines on poster submissions click here.

  2. Please visit this link to submit an abstract.  You must log in with your gt login before submitting the abstract.
    • For POSTER abstract submissions please complete the form, and ignore the parts that relate to the innovation section.
    • For INNOVATION abstract submissions please complete the entire form.
  3. Authors: The primary/first author of the abstract must be the presenting graduate student.  Undergraduate students are encouraged to work with their graduate student mentors.  Each graduate student may only submit one abstract.  The faculty advisor(s) should be listed as author(s) on the abstract.
  4. Winners will be announced at 7:30pm and students must be present during the award ceremony to be elligible for the award.
