The Joint Campus Organization Committee is responsible for reviewing existing organizations and making recommendations to the Undergraduate Student Council concerning the status of charters of campus student organizations. Members include graduate and undergraduate students appointed by the President and approved by the Undergraduate Student Council.

Before a new charter is considered by the legislative bodies of the Student Government Association, it goes up before the Joint Campus Organization Committee (JCOC). The JCOC makes recommendations to the legislative bodies on each charting bill. These recommendations are based upon a set of written policies to give the Graduate Student Senate and Undergraduate House of Representatives a guide for approving or denying organization charters.
