Description of the Executive Branch

As the main branch of Student Government, the Executive Branch serves as the arm to the other committees, internally and externally, the administration, and most importantly, to the overall student body. Opposite to the Legislative Branch, the Executive Branch acts more as the "functioning" body rather than the "allocating" body of the organization. The Executive Branch oversees operations and functions to ensure the quality of the organization structure as a whole. It coordinates between the bodies within SGA to external organizations to seek the needs and growing changes of the student body. It also reviews policies across campus and actively develops solutions. Primarily, the Executive Branch serves as the true voice and liaison of students to other bodies and departments on campus.

The Executive Branch is led by the Undergraduate President. Under the President, the Executive Board consists of various executive positions. The Vice President of Campus Affairs manages committees dealing with campus affairs, while the Vice President of Administrative Affairs is over committees in administrative affairs. The Vice President of Finance helps maintain and further develop financial policies and manages a committee that serves as the financial recommending body to the House of Representatives on bills and budgets. The Executive Chief of Staff organizes the different officers in the Executive Branch. The Treasurer promotes fundraising opportunities and teaches the bill allocation process to students and student organizations as well as keeps an accurate record of all account totals. The Secretary records detailed notes concerning the Undergraduate House of Representative Meetings. While the Executive Vice President is the chair of the Legislative Branch, he too, serves on the Executive Board, maintaining the function of the House and ensuring the precise responsibility of its Reps.

The Executive Branch has dedicated itself on various issues and platforms throughout the year. Recently, the Executive Board has been successfully working on the following: improving advertising on campus, increasing Student Life Programs (such as GT Night @ Six Flags and Midnight Breakfast), promoting class unity events (such as Juniors @ Junior’s), pushing Drop Date back to the 8th week, finalizing the implementation of the campus running loop, maintaining Course Critique, developing fundraising tools and alternative resources, and much, much more.

Currently, all positions of the Executive Board are filled except the Treasurer and Secretary position. In order to apply, one must go through the approval of the House of Representatives at the first House meeting of the Fall Semester.
